The plates are anchored and/or welded to the face of the building, with rubber buffers subsequently installed on them (with or without the steel guards). An assembly plate equipped with suitable brackets makes it possible to elevate it above the dock floor level, extending the dock capabilities to service, e.g. containers.

Assembly plates are made of 5 mm or 8 mm thick, galvanised, corrosion resistant steel sheet.
